Job Summary
GENERAL DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE
Safety is of primary importance to this and all positions. The Quality Inspector is primarily responsible to:
- Assure quality in the manufacturing plant daily, segregate products when discrepancies are found, perform checkbacks to the last good check, and communicate discrepancies to operators.
- There is no task or assignment performed without safety at the forefront of our thoughts and actions. The business has an absolute commitment to safety above all else. The position will be expected to use continuous improvement tools and principles to improve our operations' safety, quality, service, and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Incoming inspection – Inspect raw material samples and upload data to the database Perform quality assurance checks (on all production operations) and enter data into the pertinent database.
- Online In-process inspection - Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Tag Hold and segregate manufactured products if out of specification.
- Finished goods inspection - Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and documentation
- Documentation - Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, entering data into a quality database, and monitoring process performance.
- Provide feedback to employees and supervisors.

- Accurate- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly is essential.
- Communication (Oral) - Ability to communicate with the Quality Manager, and various coworkers and managers effectively is essential.
- Decision Making- Ability to make decisions while following all Company safety rules and procedures is essential especially when working in and around moving high-speed equipment.
- Detail Orientated- Ability to note minute details impacting product quality and packaging is critical.
- Honesty/Integrity- Being truthful and credible in the workplace is essential.
- Organized- Ability to follow a systematic method to package products and build pallets, maintain a clean, well-organized work area, and ensure proper stock levels for boxes, bands, glue, and labels is critical.
- Reliability- The trait of being dependable and trustworthy is essential.
- Working Under Deadline- Ability to complete assigned tasks maintain production output standards and improve yield under specified deadlines is critical.
EDUCATION
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, Quality Inspector role is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic computer knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing).

- Satisfactory Attendance and performance record within the past 12-month period
- Satisfactory completion of associated training programs
- Demonstrated ability of cooperation, leadership, and willingness to assist fellow employees in a team-based work environment
- Willingness to work overtime and at times on short notice
- Willing, able, and flexible to work alternating/rotating shift schedule
- Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position including times when there is limited or no supervision
- Thorough understanding of safety rules and the safe operation of production machinery
- Previous Manufacturing experience and length of time with Saint-Gobain will be strongly considered.
