    The Role

    What’s the job?

    The Raw Material Planner is to manage all incoming raw materials to the Shakopee, MN facility. The Raw Material Planner will plan, order and verify receipt of the raw materials required for the production of finished goods. This person works closely with corporate planning to manage specified raw materials, using all available scheduling tools and resources to efficiently utilize the plant’s resources consistent with forecasts and customer service objectives.

    Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with centralized planning to develop supply chain plans to meet customer demand and working capital targets.
    • Effectively manage the raw material inventory to support future production schedules and warehouse capacity.
    • Daily, weekly, monthly, review of existing and future production planning and budgetary planning preparations.
    • Conducts monthly raw material physical inventory assessments and cycle counts.
    • Be an active contributor to cost reduction initiatives.
    • Maintain raw material master data to best utilize our planning system.
    • Collaborate with production scheduling and manufacturing to optimize manufacturing work schedules.
    • Ensure raw material availability to support daily production and schedule conformance.
    • Communicate with raw material category managers on supply chain issues and fill out vendor scorecards.
    • Work with Quality team regarding raw material quality issues, returns or vendor feedback.
    • Support Purchasing and Accounts Payable with vendor invoice resolution.
    • Attend all operational, production and maintenance related staff meetings.
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
    • Other duties as specified.

    Required Qualifications

    What do you bring?

    • Minimum High School education, 2 or 4 year degree preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
    • Prior experience in a warehouse/logistics environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong leadership skills.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Familiarity with SAP a plus.
