Savage is looking for a Rail Switchman, with at least one year of industrial rail switching experience, who's primary responsibility is to safely and timely switch rail cars within the customers facility. Job Responsibilities: * Operate a locomotive to spot railcars, unload, and build outbound trains * Operate a locomotive to spot rail cars on the correct tracks to be unloaded * Build outbound trains, inspect rail cars and perform air brake inspection * Professional interaction and collaboration with other Savage Team Members and customers * Participation in safety training programs, which may require brief and occasional travel * Cross train and willing to assist in the different functions performed at the facility * Assist with maintenance, clean-up, and other duties as assigned Education/Experience * Minimum of 1 years experience in rail switching preferred * Valid Drivers License * High School Diploma or GED equivalent Physical Requirements * Commitment to working safely at all times * Ability to be exposed to the outdoor elements * Must be physically able to do the following: * Climb on and off railcars and locomotives safely * Operate railcar hand brakes * Operate rail switches
