    DESCRIPTION

    We are looking for a talented School To Work - Finance Co-Op to join our team specializing in Finance for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Optimize Staff Budgets : By helping with the staff budgets, you’ll ensure efficient allocation of resources, reducing unnecessary expenses and maximizing profitability.
    • Excel Expertise : Your advanced Excel skills will streamline data management, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance the accuracy of financial reports.
    • Cost Analysis : Conducting thorough cost analysis will help identify cost-saving opportunities, improve financial planning, and support strategic decision-making.
    • Data Retrieval with Oracle : Using Oracle to retrieve data will provide you with reliable and comprehensive information, essential for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
    • Reporting : YourMonthly / Ad-Hoc Reporting will keep stakeholders informed, facilitate timely decision-making, and ensure transparency in financial operations.
    • Trend Identification : Analyzing data trends will help forecast future financial performance and identify potential risks or opportunities.
    • Process Improvement : By identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements, you’ll enhance overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaboration : Working closely with different departments, you’ll ensure that financial strategies align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Excel Mastery : Ensure you have a deep understanding of Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and macros. This will help you manage and analyze data efficiently.
    • Effective Communication : Develop strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey your findings and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
    • Team Collaboration : Foster strong teamwork by being approachable, open to feedback, and willing to support colleagues across different functions of the organization.
    • Analytical Skills : Hone your ability to analyze data critically and solve complex problems. This will be crucial for cost analysis and financial planning.
    • Attention to Detail : Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in your reports and data analysis.
    • Continuous Learning : Stay updated with the latest tools and techniques in Excel, data analysis, and financial management to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.

    Education/Experience:

    Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
