    POSITION SUMMARY:

    As an integral member of the Accounting/Finance team, our Staff Accountant performs a wide array of responsibilities, including reporting, analysis, data reconciliation and working with auditors. This is a fantastic opportunity to put your analytical and technical skills to work with a growing private equity backed company that specializes in complex consolidated accounting methods via mergers and acquisitions. Must be highly motivated and able to problem solve utilizing technology to optimize operations. Excellent opportunity for growth with significant exposure to CFO and other members of Senior Leadership.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists with the month end closing and reporting process.

    • Assists to prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis package.

    • Prepares and records journal entries, including the month-end entries.

    • Responsible for job revenue and cost recognition process.

    • Prepares monthly account reconciliations in support of the financial statements.

    • Tracks Fixed Asset purchases and disposals and prepares business personal property tax returns.

    • Reconciles Unearned Inspection and Monitoring Revenue.

    • Reviews inventory transactions for purchase price variances.

    • Support the integration of acquired companies and perform acquisition accounting and consolidation.

    • Performs ad-hoc variance analyses.

    • Assists the Controller in the annual financial audit with external auditors.

    • Performs ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required.

    • Back-up for payroll, AP and AR.

    • Must continuously adhere to Company’s Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.

    • Expected to work safely, by using good judgment and following all Company safety policies and work procedures with authority to stop an unsafe act.

    • Performs other related duties as required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, plus

    • 2+ years of accounting experience, OR

    • The equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Public accounting experience preferred

    • Open to training an entry level candidate with an Accounting degree as well.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

    • Must be able to use a telephone, computer and other office equipment.
