  • Responsibilities

    Summary & Objectives:

    MKS Instruments is seeking a technical marketing co-op/intern to join the Optomech team. The intern will be a part of the undergraduate internship/co-op program.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • The technical marketing co-op position will help to update the technical information of our Optomech product line
    • This role will take on tasks such as pull items out of stock for photos and videos
    • Learn web content management system and perform content management work
    • Help with product assembly set ups
    • Help prepare content for tradeshows
    • Compare/contrast MKS products vs competitors and other marketing related activities
    • Review 3D CAD and drawings to help answer customer questions

    Knowledge & Skills & Competencies:

    • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics or related field(s)
    • Demonstrated initiative, resiliency, flexibility, time-management, and organizational skills
    • Experience with Solidworks is a plus
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work or general instructions on new assignments
    • Working knowledge of office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Can work onsite in Irvine office when necessary for particular tasks
    • Can work 20-40 hours a week combination of at home and in Irvine office
    • Detail oriented and able to work independently

    Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of time
    • Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to staff
    • Must have vision with or without lenses adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents
    • Must have high manual dexterity
    • Noise level in the work environment is usually average

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 to $ 28 .00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

    Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
