  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Manage and coordinate special projects with Supervisors, Press Operations, Bindery, Maintenance or other departments, such as implementing new equipment, training on new equipment or processes, etc.
    • Provide technical assistance to functional manufacturing areas responding to breakdowns and/or overhauls of equipment.
    • Assist with new equipment evaluations and installations.
    • Monitor the production floor to assess technical needs of the departments.
    • Provide technical training for apprentices.
    • Perform general maintenance and repair duties including basic electrical, light carpentry, HVAC, general plumbing and grounds maintenance.
    • Assist Maintenance Mechanic with investigation and resolution of mechanical problems.
    • Coordinate maintenance/repair tasks with outside contractors, if needed.
    • Perform administrative and record keeping responsibilities, preparing reports for management as required.
    • Read, understand and comply with relevant federal, state, local and company safety regulations and policies (e.g., OSHA, Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Shoes, etc.)
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Follow Company recommended techniques for lifting, manipulating and handling equipment and materials; operate Powered Industrial Vehicles.
    • Effectively communicate with coworkers to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
    • Assist management with supporting and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives, departmental maintenance activities, training, safety and special projects.
    • Set up, operate and troubleshoot a variety of bindery equipment, as needed.
    • Produce a quality product that exceeds our customers’ expectations; following the requirements of documented processes as defined in ISO Quality Procedures.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues to maintain quality standards and keep equipment in good running condition.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to follow company policy and understand any rules or regulations governing the work being completed and the impact work has on a department or the company.
    • Ability to drive company van, when needed.
    • Must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs.
    • Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain methods and/or procedures when completing assignments.
    • Requires very good organizational skills sufficient to accomplish work by established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others.
    • Job requires the ability to lift 20-75 pounds, occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently.

    Additional Information

    The pay range for this role at the noted location is $23.07 - $31.82 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
