Position Description: The employee will be expected to perform engineering approved post production electrical and avionics modifications to the P8. The employee will perform modifications to include, electrical wire and fiber optic removals, installs, tests, troubleshoot, and repair. Work on various aircraft electrical systems. Home site, DTA and Travel Data: - Employees that accept this position will be required to execute the domestic and international travel assignments. - Employees in this position will be assigned directly to factory assembly functions in Seattle Washington, (Home Site), but may be required to travel on domestic and or international temporary assignment. The post production modification work may require a domestic temporary assignment to Jacksonville Florida, and may include modification work assignments to other installations both domestic and international. The employee must have the ability to obtain all required DOD security clearances. Must be a team and safety focused individual. Duties and Responsibilities: - Follow the guidance and direction from lead, and senior SMEs. - Remove, replace, adjust and/or install equipment racks, power panels and various aircraft components/assemblies, and closures. - Perform bond and ground testing to ensure electrical ground between aircraft systems - Perform wire routing and wire terminations. - Perform soldering. - Perform pre and post testing of electrical systems. - Locate work area using drawings, Installation Plan or other paperwork that specifies airplane number, section number and three point location. - Obtain and verify detail parts, standards and assemblies were issued correctly and are free of visible defects. - Perform lock out, tag out, try out equipment for safety. - Perform detailed tool inventories daily. - Demonstrate a safe work ethic. Required Skills and Experience: - Minimum one (1) year of demonstrated knowledge and experience with routing aircraft electrical wires and assemblies. Graduates of A&P school training will also qualify. - Minimum one (1) years directly related work experience in performing complete operational testing of electrical systems. Graduates of A&P school training will also qualify. - Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read and interpret production illustrations, wiring diagrams, and/or schematics. Graduates of A&P school training will also qualify. - Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of electrical test equipment. Graduates of A&P school training will also qualify. Preferred Skills and Experience: - Minimum one (3) year of experience working around live aircraft and flight operations. - Minimum three (3) year of demonstrated knowledge and experience with routing aircraft electrical wires and assembly. - Electrical/ Avionics modification and test experience. - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience with commercial and/or military aircraft.
