TITLE Manufacturing Technician Level 4 (Mechanical Coordinator)nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; LOCATION Longmont, Colorado REPORTS TO Technical Leader KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for the manufacture of consumer foods which comply with all food safety, quality and regulatory requirements. * Understands and supports company and site safety policies and performs work related activities in a safe manner. Recognizes unsafe work conditions, coaches peers, and suggests new safety standards as appropriate. * Plans preventative and corrective maintenance activities, including sourcing parts, writing job plans, and estimating labor hours. * Coordinates with technicians and department leadership to plan and ensure timely execution of maintenance activities, including down time planning. * Monitors and tracks key reliability metrics for department (run efficiency, work order completion, PM completion, etc.); provides results updates and action plan status to department. * Owns accuracy of electronic maintenance database information (Oracle eAM) for assigned department. * Creates, validates, and improves documentation as needed (PMs, job plans, spare parts list, etc.). * Utilizes drawings, prints, and instruction manuals to determine proper steps to be taken for equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs; adheres to company drawing and documentation standards. * Ensures that technicians follow safe practices and continually improve electrical safe practices for their responsible area. * Develops individual technicians to maximum potential through effective training, identification and utilization of skills and capabilities. * Coaches and mentors technicians in advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment, area ownership responsibilities, and provides feedback. * Conducts progress meetings with level four technicians on a regular basis. * Uses continuous improvement tools, including breakdown elimination, to eliminate losses and drive issues to root cause; documents, communicates, and implements corrective and preventative actions. * Interfaces with outside vendors to solicit technical help and source parts and service as needed for repairs and small projects. * Serves as an owner of one or more technical, safety, or quality systems; responsible for building technician skills and providing ongoing coaching. * Leads and participates on teams and projects including process improvement initiatives, site progressive maintenance committee, and capital projects. * Facilitates effective communication with the appropriate parties to discuss mechanical issues, impact, and follow-up status. * Responds to trouble calls when needed and ensures that all calls for outages are responded to in a timely manner. * Increases skills and knowledge by attending technical training sessions, participating in vendor visits and scheduled maintenance activities. * Other duties as assigned. SELECTION CRITERIA Education * High School Diploma or equivalent is required * Associates, technical degree or training is preferred Experience * A minimum of 3 to 5 years mechanical/maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required * Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred Other * Willing to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed * Willing to travel for initial training * Able to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and general instructions * Working knowledge of general electrical safety * Demonstrated strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and training skills * Able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions * Good communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback * Able to provide leadership and prioritization in designated equipment area * Able to set and meet goals * Able to prioritize and manage workload in a changing environment * Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines * Self-motivated and can work accurately and independently with minimal direct supervision * Able to problem-solve, handle stressful situations, and act with a sense of urgency * Able to work both independently and on a team * Works well with support personnel to maintain high standards for safety, quality, and reliability and drive improvements * Able to make data driven decisions and engage others as appropriate * Basic mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills * Basic computer skills including email and Microsoft Office * Able to learn company specific computer systems, including maintenance enterprise system * Able to perform the key responsibilities outlined above in accordance with safety standards and practices * Physical requirements of the job include the ability to: * Lift and carry up to 50 pounds * Stand, sit, walk, enter confined spaces, push, pull, kneel, squat, and climb * Perform repetitive actions, reach, and feel * Hear, speak, and see * This role is a rotational offline support role.nbsp; The candidate should anticipate being in this role for approximately 3 years before rotating into an online technician role.
