ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ****

• Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
• Develop engaging content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and press releases.
• Manage the plant’s participation and interaction with company communication tools.
• Serve as the point of contact for plant leaders on communication needs.
• Create and distribute internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged.
• Support media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases and coordinating interviews.
• Monitor and manage social media accounts, including posting updates, responding to comments, and analyzing engagement metrics.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure relevant information is shared on the Company’s brand and initiatives.
• Gather and analyze data on communications effectiveness and recommend improvements to extend reach and readership.
• Gauge employee and local community sentiment.
• Manage company web page and update as needed.
• Develop and maintain employee trust.
• Establish credibility and influence across all levels at the plant.
• Assist in planning and executing company events and campaigns.
• Conduct research to support communication strategies and stay updated on industry trends.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, beset practices, and emerging communication technologies.
• Perform administrative duties as needed to support the communications team.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE ****

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing is a plus.

Knowledge

• Understanding of media production, communication techniques, and dissemination methods.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations, including media relations and community engagement.

• Knowledge of digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to travel between plant locations as needed. May require standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Environment: Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments. Exposure to various plant conditions, including noise, temperature variations, and machinery. Must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats when entering production areas.
