    Job Description

    Responsibilities and Job Duties:

    • Create and execute sales and marketing strategies : Collaborate with leadership to ensure strategies align with overall business goals.
    • Analyze market trends : Stay ahead by understanding customer needs and competitor activity to drive innovative sales strategies.
    • Forecast long-range sales potential : Work with the leadership team on regional growth and development needs to ensure sustainability.
    • Develop brand awareness : Implement marketing strategies and build an industry network.
    • Enhance customer relationships : Seek out new opportunities and actively build a network.
    • Attend events and trade shows : Proactively participate in customer events and regional and national trade shows.
    • Build a customer-centric culture : Focus on customer service and responsiveness, maintaining a reputation for confidence and product reliability/quality.
    • Resolve client issues : Address delivery errors and approve returns to mitigate customer concerns.
    • Track sales objectives : Communicate and monitor key results.
    • Negotiate contracts : Manage product distribution by establishing distribution networks or developing distribution strategies.
    • Provide direction and support : Build rapport, train, and support the sales team.
    • Set clear expectations : Ensure team alignment by setting clear expectations.
    • Coach and guide employees : Maximize potential through growth opportunities and personal development.
    • Oversee hiring and training : Manage the hiring, training, and performance of the outside sales team.
    • Maintain performance expectations : Establish and maintain clear performance expectations with team members.
    • Develop direct reports : Ensure the planning and development of successors for key leadership positions.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Education : Bachelor’s degree in business or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience : At least five (5) years in sales experience required. Experience in the Waterworks or Construction industries and/or Distribution sales is preferred but not required.
    • Supervision : Proven experience in supervising and managing a sales team.
    • Skills : Strong sales, negotiation, and organizational skills.
    • Leadership : Motivational leader who is enthusiastic, positive, and possesses a high level of energy.
    • Technical Skills : Strong computer literacy.
    • Travel : Extensive travel required (estimated at 60%) to meet customers, attend trade functions, and conduct market research.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work Activities : Interacting with computers; analyzing and processing information; documenting and recording information; making decisions and solving problems; organizing, planning, and prioritizing work; communicating with supervisors; updating and using relevant knowledge; evaluating information to determine compliance with standards.
    • Physical Demands : Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.     • Work Environment : Typical office setting within a heavy manufacturing environment.
