Position Summary:
Responsible for managing a caseload of clients by providing co-occurring (substance use and mental health) personalized individual, interactive, and group treatment.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct individualized client treatment sessions weekly
- Facilitate a variety of gender-specific groups including, but not limited to, activity, process, and psycho-educational
- Comply with MN Statute Rule 245G requirements regarding timely paperwork and documentation
- Provide support and intervention in crisis situations
- Maintain a positive, professional and ethical demeanor with clients and within the community while following a strict code of ethics
- Participate in multidisciplinary staffing meetings weekly
- Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the Clinical Supervisor
- Work alongside peers to offer and receive support when needed
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must demonstrate competence in screening for and working with clients with co-occurring disorders; through education, training and experience
- Knowledge of MN Statute Chapter 245G and licensing and its application to the department and company's policy and procedures
- Ability to work in alignment with company values, goals, policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with co-workers
- Ability to establish priorities, manage projects, and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and electronic medical record system; or ability to obtain proficiency after training
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Must be a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or have the ability to obtain an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Temporary permit (ADC-T)
- Must obtain and maintain required continuing education units and training
Additional information
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position, working Monday - Friday, evening hours to serve our outpatient clients.
Full-time Counselor annual salary range is $52000 - $65,000 DOQ.
