Summary
The Fire Alarm Foreman/Lead is responsible for overseeing fire alarm system installations, repairs, and maintenance while ensuring quality, safety, and project deadlines are met. This role provides leadership to the team, coordinates jobsite activities, and maintains strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems.
- Supervise and mentor team members to ensure proper execution of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate work schedules, material requirements, and project timelines.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to guide installation efforts.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades on-site.
- Provide hands-on technical support as needed.
- Document all work performed, including job progress and materials used.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (required), NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm (preferred).
- Experience: 4-6 years in fire alarm installation or related field; supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications: NICET Level II (or higher), OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot systems, and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry equipment, and work from heights as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and operate a forklift/power jack.
Work Conditions
- Ability to work on construction sites and in various weather conditions.
- Must be available for overtime and on-call rotations as required by client demand.
