    Intern, Talk Programming - Part-Time SiriusXM 151 reviews - Washington, DC 20002 Part-time, Internship Position Type: Internship Session: Fall 2018 (September 19 - December 7, 2018) Location: Washington, D.C. Position Summary: SiriusXM interns don't just make coffee, they're on-air, on projects and making valuable contributions to SiriusXM. Join our internship program and learn about the radio world and get hands-on experience in your field of study. SiriusXM is seeking interns interested in politics, entertainment or children's programming to join one of our talk programming channels/shows! Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Learn and assist with daily operations for a radio show. * Edit audio.
    • Run sound board. * Perform show preparation and research for on-air talent. * Interact with listeners through e-mail and on-air phone screening. * Conduct outreach. * Log shows. * Participate in on-air content. * Perform other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: * None. Minimum Qualifications: * You must be 18 years of age or older. * Must be enrolled in a U.S. based college, university or trade school to qualify. Students who have completed at least two years of college are preferred. * Broadcast communications majors preferred. * Current or previous enrollment in communications classes preferred. * Prior internship or working experience in radio/TV preferred. * Experience with digital media systems a plus. Requirements and General Skills: * Good project management and planning skills. * Good personnel management skills. * Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to pay attention to details. * Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects. * Familiar with SiriusXM Programming. * Knowledge and interest in current events, pop culture and politics. * Must have legal right to work in the U.S. Technical Skills: * Knowledge of Broadcast Automation/On-Air software, a plus. * Experience with digital editing software (Cool Edit, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition) preferred. * Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
