Major Duties (Job Description)
- You will serve as Legacy Systems Transition Lead and will be responsible for the delivery, management, and execution of transitioning LOG IT legacy systems to modernized logistics systems in a complex Integrated Data Environment.
- You will support functional and technical activities for the analysis, planning, development, deployment, integration and sustainment of requirements and assigned programs/systems.
- You will direct the activities of Information Technology (IT) technicians to directly support end users and to assist with IT system upgrades and directives.
- You will collaborate across Department of the Navy (DON) Systems Commands (SYSCOMS) to develop plans or initiatives to increase the efficiency of the shutdown and transformation of Logistics IT (LOG IT) legacy systems.
- You will formulate recommendations to leadership while executing program management and technology service delivery practices and/or processes.
- You will plan and coordinate the execution of required acquisition processes and reporting procedures; providing oversight/staffing of Milestone (MS) and risk analyses associated with legacy system transitions.
- You will define distinct work phases, methods and models to plan for design, build, test, delivery of products that meet user functional requirements and enable legacy system transitions.
- You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and customers to facilitate resolution of complex Business IT issues and risks.
- You will develop strategies to reduce operational risk of sustaining legacy systems during the emerging system fielding process.
Qualification Summary
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing strategic plans to increase the efficiency of the shutdown and transformation of legacy systems into modern systems.
