  • Responsibilities

    Major Duties (Job Description)

    • You will manage the Command's Fall Protection Program and will serve as a general Safety Specialist for a large, assigned geographic area.
    • You will evaluate operations, facilities, materials, and equipment affecting fall protection.
    • You will conduct fall hazard surveys and preparing survey reports, coordinating workplace and personal fall protection system inspections with the supporting competent person for fall protection.
    • You will schedule, coordinate, and participate in semi-annual fall protection training courses.
    • You will perform and document workplace safety inspections in a variety of work environments including administrative, industrial/semi-industrial, hazardous material use, and material handling locations.
    • You will coordinate with the servicing Industrial Hygienist, identifying work areas, processes, or tasks that require respiratory protection.

    Qualification Summary

    Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing safety programs, completing safety inspections and mishap investigations in a variety of work environments, identifying appropriate corrective actions and supporting implementation of controls necessary to abate hazards and/or reduce risk to acceptable levels.
