    Major Duties (Job Description)

    • You will review position descriptions for accuracy, recommending proper title, series and level in accordance with appropriate classification standards and guidelines.
    • You will conduct desk audits if necessary to gather and study data on the job content, knowledge required, and skills involved.
    • You will advise and assists management in designing positions for civilian personnel and operational requirements.
    • You will determine the correct classification by comparison to existing standards or standards related to the work.
    • You will explain the standards, classification decisions, impact of designated duties, and complaint and appeal procedures to employees, supervisors, and management officials.
    • You will interpret and explains classification criteria and prepares and/or presents advisory opinions on the classification of positions.
    • You will provide consultation to managers, supervisors, and HR personnel on classification, compensation methodologies, and HRIS functionalities.
    • You will conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance understanding and application of classification and compensation principles among relevant stakeholders.
    • You will support the Command's FLSA Program and will provide advice and/or recommend classification of non-standard, controversial or other classification actions or FLSA determinations.
    • You will analyze regulations to develop standard operating procedures or processes for the recruitment, relocation and retention incentive program.
    • You will provide tactful advice, verbally and in writing, to managers who have delegated classification authority.

    Qualification Summary

    DP-03 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band DP-02 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing comprehensive knowledge of position classification standards and guides, judgment and sound position classification principles to evaluate and resolve unusually complicated problems; evaluating position classification appeals and processing actions according to applicable OPM regulations; conducting desk audits, and interviewing supervisors to supplement information contained in position descriptions. DA-03 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band DA-02 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing federal classification authoritative advice and consultative service to customers; and interpreting and applying position classification standards to professional, administrative and interdisciplinary positions to determine appropriate pay plan, occupational series, title and grade level for civilian positions.
