  • Responsibilities

    Major Duties (Job Description)

    • You will serve as the principal advisor to the NAVWAR Director of Digital Innovation Data, NAVWAR Command Information Officer, senior leadership on data strategy, innovation, and knowledge management.
    • You will serve as the NAVWAR HQ lead for current and future Business Intelligence capabilities., manage software development of business intelligence reports, analyze user requirements for new reporting capabilities.
    • You will develop the NAVWAR data architecture and road map and advise NAVWAR leadership on future data decisions, analyze and make technical recommendations on tools to support data analytics and data science.
    • You will align NAVWAR’s data, digital, and knowledge-sharing initiatives with DoD/DoN policies, directives, and emerging technologies.
    • You will lead NAVWAR’s enterprise data governance program, including the development, enforcement, and continuous improvement of data and knowledge-sharing policies.
    • You will write and oversee the execution of NAVWAR-wide data and KM strategies, policies, and implementation plans, focusing on master data management, metadata management, data modeling, and knowledge repositories.
    • You will evaluate and recommend tools and technologies supporting data analytics, data science, and KM solutions, including enterprise collaboration platforms, data warehouses, and visualization tools.
    • You will analyze user requirements to deliver advanced reporting, BI capabilities, and KM tools that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

    Qualification Summary

    Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Technical expertise in data governance, business intelligence (BI), data architecture, and/or knowledge management (KM). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: developing and implementing policies, standards, and frameworks for data governance and KM; strategic planning for enterprise data architecture and BI platforms; evaluating and providing recommendations on emerging database technologies and data-sharing solutions; leading digital transformation initiatives; and designing and managing data warehousing, data science, or knowledge management programs to support organizational decision-making and operational goals.
