  • Responsibilities

    Major Duties (Job Description)

    • You will serve as the NIWC Atlantic Deputy to the Cybersecurity, Test and Evaluation Senior Competency Lead.
    • You will be responsible for the daily operations of the Competency (59A000).
    • You will have technical and operational responsibility within the competency to guide and maintain the short- and long-term objectives of the competency.
    • You will analyze and evacuate the effectiveness of the competency operations.
    • You will collaborate with Competency Managers, Supervisors and Deputies to support Team NIWC Atlantic objectives.
    • You will support the senior NIWC Atlantic Senior Competency Lead to provide oversight and alignment between Competency Leads to improve the state of Cybersecurity and Test and Evaluation.
    • You will support NIWC Atlantic Senior Management, departments, and Programs in Test and Evaluation and Cybersecurity Engineering planning, manning, and facilities planning/implementation

    Qualification Summary

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Utilize analytical skills, evaluation techniques, and re-engineering methods to assess the technical, financial, and programmatic implications of prospective IT endeavors. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Manage stakeholder requirements from internal/external agencies helping execute and accomplish organizational goals and objectives. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the workforce communicating organizational goals and objectives while aligning with the command's initiatives. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analysis, reporting, coordinating, and facilitating working groups to meet and resolve project objectives.In addition: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing AND deploying technical measures to protect and defend networks, cyber systems, computers, and information from disruption, denial, degradation AND/OR destruction.
