Mom + Pop Music is an independent record label in New York City, with artists such as Courtney Barnett, Flume, FIDLAR, Neon Indian and many more. We are currently seeking one intern for the Spring semester to assist head of the label, Michael Goldstone and his right arm/A&R Manager, Suzanna Slavin in A&R responsibilities.
Daily tasks include but aren’t limited to the following:
Staying up-to-date on daily music trends/news by reading articles on popular music sites such as Pitchfork, Billboard, NME, Stereogum, New York Times Music, The Guardian, etc.
Intern will be responsible for sending daily personal responses on important and compelling music articles with thorough explanation (a paragraph or two).
Researching independent music blogs and becoming familiar with each blogger’s taste and writing aesthetic. o Intern will be responsible for sending daily reports of new and exciting music from several independent blogs with comments and understanding of what is trending currently.
Providing extensive research on new artists from blogs, radio reports, articles, etc. Some but not all points of research will include: o Members o Genre o Socials o Discography/Videography o Current and previous album/single sales o Current and previous press
Monitoring and tracking progress on label and M+P bands’ socials including Soundcloud plays, Youtube views, Instagram and Twitter posts, etc.
Intern will be responsible for constructing Excel documents with all information above, to be presented at the end of each month to Goldie and Suzanna.

Mom + Pop Music is an independent record label based in New York, NY. President and founder Michael Goldstone launched the label in the summer of 2008, along with Q Prime owners Cliff Burnstein and Peter Mensch.[1] Early signings included the likes of Joshua Radin and An Horse.
Mom + Pop Music now hosts a total of 20 active artists on its roster, including Courtney Barnett, Flume, Andrew Bird, Ingrid Michaelson and more.
