We are seeking a Legal Intern for our Washington, D.C. office to support our policy and advocacy efforts with our Kids Action team this spring and summer.
Common Sense (www.commonsense.org) is dedicated to helping kids and families thrive in a world of media and technology. Common Sense Kids Action, the advocacy arm of Common Sense, works with policy makers, business leaders, and other advocates at the state and federal level to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed in school and in life. The Kids Action agenda seeks to drive policies in four key areas of concern for children and their families: high quality early childhood investments, 21st century learning, a positive media and technology world, and a family friendly environment at work.
Law students, this is your chance to be part of a mission-driven nonprofit with fun, collaborative, innovative people. We are seeking bright self-starters with a passion for our mission. Assignments may include researching state and federal policy issues related to kids and media, education, early childhood, poverty, privacy, and/or education technology, writing policy briefs, letters, and memos, attending hearings, markups and meetings, and tracking legislation in Washington, D.C., and state capitals.
