    What You’ll Do…

    These positions are located at our R&D Facilities in Houston, Texas.  Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.  

    The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time in-person internships.  The summer 2025 internship is expected to begin on May 19, 2025.  

    We are seeking a highly motivated AI/ML Intern to join our team in Houston, TX. This position is ideal for Master’s or PhD students in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related fields who have a strong background in programming and a keen interest in developing AI/ML algorithms, which will be used for electromagnetic (EM) applications.

    The selected intern will work closely with our EM Sensor Physics Lead to design and implement neural networks (NNs) and AI/ML algorithms, as well as create training databases that drive innovation in electromagnetic sensing technologies.

    Your Key Responsibilities:

    Projects you could potentially work on include:

    • Develop and optimize neural networks (NNs) and AI/ML algorithms for EM applications.
    • Design and implement training databases based on guidance from the EM sensor physics lead.
      • Work with C#, Python, MATLAB, or other AI/ML-related programming languages.
      • Process and analyze electromagnetic (EM) sensor data to improve model accuracy.
      • Collaborate with the research team to integrate AI/ML models into existing workflows.
      • Document research findings and present results to stakeholders.

       

    • Draft disclosures for any new innovations based on guidance from the EM sensor physics lead

    What You’ll Bring to Our Team

    **Required Qualifications: **

    • Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
    • Strong programming skills in C#, Python, MATLAB, or other AI/ML-compatible languages.
    • Experience with machine learning (ML) and neural network (NN) development.
    • Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training techniques.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative research environment.
    • Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.

    **Desired Qualifications: **

    • Familiarity with electromagnetic (EM) concepts and their applications.
    • Experience with Fortran programming.
    • Exposure to scientific computing, numerical simulations, or signal processing.
    • Prior experience working with large-scale datasets and AI-driven sensor applications.
    • Familiar with deep learning frameworks such as Keras, Pytorch and Tensorflow
    • Strong analytical and technical skills
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-motivated and results-oriented  
    • Strong problem-solving abilities

    **Salary Range: $26 - $36/hour **
