    Product Services Lines looking for R&D Applications Engineer

    What you'll do…

    This position is located at our R&D Facilities in Houston, Texas.  Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.  

    The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time hybrid internship.  The summer 2024 internship is expected to begin on May 20, 2024.  

    **Your Key Responsibilities: **

    Projects you could potentially work on include:

    • Design Cementing fluids and wellbore construction solutions, reservoir and/or wellbore fluid treatment and placement applications.
    • Apply advanced fluid mechanics theory and design to the rheological characterization of fluids, flow modeling, solids transport, viscoelasticity, and friction.
    • May apply advanced geomechanics technologies for predicting the long-term integrity of wellbore and cementing materials through pore-pressure prediction, stress analysis and mechanical properties.
    • Perform numerical modeling, data analysis, correlation and model development and assist in development of new modeling software
    • Assist in developing chemical products and processes by providing chemical and engineering analysis.
    • Assist in designing and performing specialized tests, data acquisition and analysis
    • Assist in development and testing of in-house software products and provide field support
    • Assist in the preparation of detailed project plan and execute under the guidance of project leaders
    • Participate in resolving technical/operational questions with representatives of other organizations

    What You’ll Bring to Our Team

    Required Qualifications:

    • Skills are typically acquired through participation in an Graduate program in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or similar discipline
    • Basic programming skills using Python with NumPy/SciPy libraries, MATLAB etc.
    • Knowledge about transport phenomena, e.g. computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer
    • Experience with semi-empirical modeling and data-driven modeling
    • Acquaintance with laboratory experimentation and statistical data analysis

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. To qualify, your university and/or permanent address must be more than 50 miles from your work location.

    • Corporate housing provided for the summer to those candidates who qualify.

    Salary Range: $31 - $36/hour
