    Job Overview

    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Serve as subject-matter expert for solid rocket motors supporting Research and Development for Department of the Air Force applications
    • Conduct rocket motor component design and modeling & simulation activities, including maintenance and development of necessary computer models for rocket cases, nozzles, and propellant grains
    • Serve as program manager for contracted and in-house motor technology development programs, managing project cost, schedule, and performance

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance
    • At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DR‐01/GS‐11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
    • Must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program

    Desired Qualifications

    • Specialized experience with solid rocket motor design and analysis highly desired.
    • Specialized experience with engineering simulations (CFD / FEA) highly desired.
    • Graduate education in engineering or science highly desired.
    • Computer programming skill desired, especially Python, FORTRAN, and C++
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to manage workload across competing priorities and work efficiently towards timely task completion
    • Ability to work independently and proactively
