JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in performing a variety of data collection and data summary tasks on stream and wetland mitigation banking projects. This person also performs basic duties for various projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Field monitoring and data collection of wetland and stream mitigation sites
- Operating a tractor for tasks including spraying, bush hogging, disking, and road grading
- Perform invasive brush clearing, tree felling, planting, seeding, and other restoration activities
- Survey assistance for stream and wetland restoration projects
- Implement and enforce safety policy and procedures to ensure safe working environment and increase employee safety awareness
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient with GIS and Microsoft Office
- Bottomland hardwood identification required
- Knowledge or ability to learn plant and wildlife identification
- Ability to identify and map Waters of the U.S.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Must be able to work independently
- Land Navigation
- Must be able to operate a UTV safely in all conditions
Required Experience
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program, preferably with the completion of one year towards a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Forestry, or related field of study.
