The Procurement/Supply Chain Management (P/SCM) function works in partnership to strategically leverage and manage this spend with a focus on operational excellence and the total cost of ownership represented in the supply chain. The P/SCM function collaborates within Chevron and across the companies we work to deliver goods and services to Chevron safely, reliably, and at a competitive cost. The functions strategic processes include: Category Management, Contracting, Strategic Sourcing, National & Local Content, Market Intelligence, Procurement Operations and Supplier Diversity/Local Content. Our mission is to create a competitive differentiation for Chevron by delivering optimal P/SCM solutions the right materials and services, in the right place, at the right time, at the right cost. P/SCM Early Career Business Analystwill rotate assigments as an embedded member of a Category Management Team and may work on several projects simultaneously. The position conducts various supply chain analyses, internal and external market research studies, as well as data and process analysis for Procurement management and cross-operating company procurement teams. Frequent interaction with leadership, senior managers, current program members, and program alumni can be expected. Early Career Development Program (ECDP) rotation assignments are driven by organizational and business needs and may rotate within the Supply Chain function to Houston, TX, San Ramon, CA, San Joaquin, CA and elsewhere in the enterprise. Rotations average 18 months per assignmentand include supporting Category Management, Contracting, Procurement Operations and other P/SCM activities that support the Technology, Projects & Services, Upstream, or Downstream, Corporate & Shared Services organizations. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: -Must be capable of handling a diverse workload and multiple tasks with accuracy under minimal supervision. -Responsible for conducting various forms of analysis - including spend, business, financial and supplier analysis. -Analyzes supplier activities, market share changes and swings in business and prepare projections on how these may influence future supplier proposals or negotiations. -Develop first cost and total cost models and other related assessments. -Provides commodity-service support to Category Managers for sourcing tenders, negotiations and contracts. -Develops or assists in the development of category plan documents, business cases, and other presentations with emphasis on clear presentation and interpretation of data gathered. -Supports Procurement-Supply Chain Mgmt team through benchmarking, cost management, alternative sourcing and supply chain management studies. -Responsible for tracking and reporting cost management initiatives to management. Required Qualifications: -Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineer, Economics or Finance. -Geographic Mobility to other areas that Chevron operates on 18 month rotations; particularly Houston, TX, San Ramon, CA, and San Joaquin, CA. -Minimum 1 year Supply Chain data analysis corporate experience; Internships may be considered. -Demonstrated ability to analyze data using advanced Excel (including Pivot Tables and Macros), Powerpoint and Data Modeling Tools. -Demonstrated experience of analyzing data and situations and determine critical value drivers, synthesize with key stakeholders and make recommendations. -Demonstrated ability to provide insights that turn multiple option data into useful information that informs good business decisions. -Demonstrates ability to clearly convey concepts and objectives orally; in presentations and in technical reports; both with all internal company stakeholders as well as externally with suppliers. -General business experience with proven ability to discern and understand economic cases and trends. Ability to link cases and trends to Supply Chain Management business strategies and plans. -Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline; multi-cultural environment. -Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills; strong team player. -Volunteers time and knowledge to assist co-workers and values each person's skills, experiences, and perspectives. -Intentional at recognizing and acknowledging the contributions of others. Preferred Qualifications: -MBA Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering or related. -Minimum 2 years Supply Chain data analysis experience. -Proficiency in Access, Ariba, SharePoint, SAP Power BI or other Data Modeling Tools.
