EXPERIENCE: * Two (2) years of customer service experience which must have included public telephone contact involving resolution of complex inquiries or complaints. EQUIVALENCY(IES): * One (1) year as a sworn Peace Officer will meet the education and experience requirements. OTHER REQUIREMENT(S): * Availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. * Must have own telephone or cellular phone. * Must pass an intensive background investigation and drug test. * Must obtain Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC) certifications during probationary period. * No FELONY or Class A MISDEMEANOR convictions. * No Class B MISDEMEANOR convictions within the last ten (10) years. * Must be a United States citizen. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY(IES): * Must be able to tactfully extract information from citizens and assist Police Officers in compiling offense information. * Requires accurate editing and data entry skills, effective communications skills, plus ability to interpret federal, state, local and departmental regulations. PREFERENCE(S): English/Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
