Fish and Aquatic Field Science Intern
Position Details:
Stewards Individual Placements (Stewards) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, Tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Quinault National Fish Hatchery are seeking an intern who will support fish hatchery operations. This intern will gain a wealth of diversified and career building fish hatchery experience as well as supplemental fieldwork experience. This position also includes career development training to better prepare the intern to find and better compete for relevant employment opportunities beyond this experience.
Position Responsibilities will include:
Minimum Requirements:
o Persons who possess at least one-half degree Indian blood derived from Tribes Indigenous to the United States.
o Descendants of Members of Federally recognized Indian Tribes, Bands or Communities who were residing on any Indian Reservation on June 1, 1934 – shown by completing BIA Form 4432.

Required Experience
Minimum Education:
• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
• Successful completion of Nurse Aide course or the equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Aide from the state of Kentucky.
• BLS certification - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.
