The Multi-Sensing Knowledge Branch (AFRL/RYAP), Sensors Directorate seeks to hire a DR-03 Deputy Branch Chief in Dayton, OH.
This position is open to candidates currently at the DR-02 (or equivalent grade) level eligible for promotion and/or current DR-03 (or equivalent grade) level candidates for reassignment.
Position duties include but are not limited to:
- Performs a broad range of professional scientific and engineering work to manage portfolio consisting of basic research, exploratory, and advanced development efforts.

- Implements technical objectives through means of in-house and contracted efforts.
- Documents and presents highly complex information, concepts, and ideas as required.
- Applies expertise in algorithm performance understanding to facilitate development and transition of Air Force and Space Force autonomous sensing, multi-sensing fusion, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Serves as dedicated team member conducting research and development through in-house and external means as appropriate.
- Maintains electronic case files in accordance with directorate requirements.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-02, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialist experience include experience with multi-sensor fusion algorithms, basic AI/ML algorithm development, or Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (N); experience is 4 years; and the selectee will have 60-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.
