    The HQ AFRL Information Protection Office (IP) seeks to hire an Information Protection Director located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Functions as the Director and Center Senior Functional, Information Protection for the Air Force Research Laboratory, AFRL/IP.
    • Directs, establishes and communicates complex IP concepts, translates and establishes guidance, and prioritizes goals to ensure Center standardization.
    • Provides direct support to AFRL/CD to execute Security Program Executive responsibilities.
    • Develops Center policy/implementation of Information, Personnel, Industrial, Physical, Controlled Unclassified Information, OPSEC, STINFO, S&T Protection, Risk Informed Security Countermeasures (RISC), Insider Threat, Continuous Evaluation, Antiterrorism & Police Services.
    • Exercises Strategic Planning principles to anticipate changes in Enterprise workloads, identify/advocate for necessary resources & perform in collaborative role with Center/MAJCOM/USAF/DoD entities.
    • Supervises/mentors/provides guidance to IP professionals.
    • Implements major aspects of business management by developing, interpreting, and communicating laboratory-specific policy.
    • Communicates critical concepts to influence consensus among senior leadership.
    • Oversees, directs, monitors, and conducts regulatory/non-regulatory security management reviews, surveys, inspections, and staff assistance visits on AFRL organizations to monitor, encourage, and enforce compliance of IP programs.

    Required Qualifications

    • Must meet the OPM qualification standards for the position: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0000/security-administration-series-0080/
    • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower level or equivalent grade level in the Federal system of the position being advertised.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
    • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with Information Protection implementations and regulations in AFRL
    • Supervisory/leadership experience and great interpersonal skills
