    The Information Directorate (RI), Logistics Readiness Branch (RIOLC) seeks to hire a DO-1670-01 Equipment Specialist to serve as an advisor to Researchers and Maintenance Program Managers in the maintenance and operations to support mission objectives.

    • Coordinates with Maintenance Program Manager to ensure all applicable maintenance related functions are efficiently performed throughout AFRL/Rome Research Site.
    • Collaborate with Maintenance Manager and QA as necessary to comply with AFRLI 61-101, AFI 21-101, and the Logistics Standardization and Evaluation Program (LSEP).
    • Manage the Stock Control program for the directorate while overseeing appointed division representatives.
    • Assist PM's and Researchers develop technical data manuals and maintenance schedules to meet the Rome Research Site (RRS) Maintenance Program objectives.
    • As the subject-matter expert, will monitor day-to-day maintenance operations of contracted technician personnel assigned to Logistics Programs.
    • Ensure maintenance documents are completed on approved forms and databases.
    • Participates in special projects and initiatives to provide constructive technical guidance, formulate recommendations to supervisors and screen out training requirements associated with research maintenance operations.
    • Will provide weekly/monthly slide presentation briefings to logistics management.
    • Serves as Branch Safety representative.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

    • Experience that provides knowledge of the characteristics, uses, and properties of equipment that was gained through trades or crafts, engineering technicians, production control, inspection, or other related work.
    • Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
    • Knowledge of, and skill in applying, a wide range of principles, concepts, and practices used in equipment maintenance which enables the employee to serve as a technical expert for relevant systems.
    • Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
    • Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Desire minimum of 5 years Logistics experience with preventative maintenance program.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience with Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment(TMDE) management.
    • Skills in providing technical advice and training in terms or oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to Researchers, Lab Managers and equipment users; and in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
    • Skills in analyzing and interpreting regulations, procedures, and techniques relating to maintenance equipment, technical manuals, and technical data; and in identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
    • Specialized practical and theoretical knowledge of assigned systems/equipment for application to difficult and complex situations and problems that have no clear precedent in order to oversee and implement a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems such as determining systems/equipment deficiencies and appropriate resolutions.
