    Join our team leading the transformation of the AFRL Director of Staff. We are looking for a Facility Operations Specialist for the Director of Staff Integration and Operations.

    Position Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Serve as AFRL HQ Facility Manger for Building 15, which hosts the AFRL Front Office Group, and AFRL Functional Directorates
    • Responsible for operating facility programs and services to assure compliance with all certification, safety, fire prevention, and security program requirements
    • Inspect and direct activities providing services such as plumbing, utility, water and sewage treatment, telephone, janitorial, and elevator service
    • Inspects contractors work in compliance with specifications or standards; determining and projecting funding requirements; and justifying budget requests
    • Manages facility operations team
    • Manges interactions and responses for/to base-wide exercise preparation, integration, simulation, real-world exercising of Building 15, AFRL HQ
    • Manages personnel and processes to identify and analyze facility-based logistical requirements, planning as to the overall use of resources, both personnel and materials
    • Coordinates with contractors and with the Wing Base Civil Engineer, and other facilities counterparts to formulate plans for construction projects for inclusion in the long-range facilities plan

    Required Qualifications

    • US Citizenship
    • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade level or equivalent grade level of the position being advertised
    • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
    • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
    • This position is designated as a key position
    • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF). This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continue through full resumption of all functions
    • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing

    Desired Qualifications

    • Knowledge of a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning complex technical requirements, operating capabilities and maintenance needs of AFRL HQ facility and equipment
    • Knowledge of basic federal budgeting principles, concepts, and practices
    • Knowledge of safety and security practices for government facilities
    • Skill in reading and interpreting paper or computer-based engineering drawings and schematics diagrams
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Knowledge of federal budgeting principles, concepts, and practices preparing budget requirement submissions for operations, maintenance, repair, new construction, alteration projects, replacement of equipment, supplies, or increase in services
