    AFRL Space Electro-Optics Operations section, seeks to hire a mid-level, DO-0080-02, Government Security Specialist in Kirtland AFB, NM.
    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Serves as Special Security Specialist for the Division. Performs day-to-day duties of the AFRL/RDS security office to develop, implement and execute security policies, procedures, training, and programs for protecting information, personnel, facilities, and property to ensure critical research and development technologies and systems related to the Starfire Optical Range are sufficiently protected from unauthorized disclosure.
    • Acts as deputy to the Lead security specialist. Works closely with Air Force Research laboratory, Air Force Materiel Command, Space Force, other DoD and national organizations to execute security policies and standards.
    • Continuously monitors activities to ensure existing security policies and procedures are being executed and followed by all personnel.
    • Establishes local procedures for the delegation and exercise of classification and declassification authority, document marking, safeguarding, and use; personnel access controls; need to know criteria; physical storage and control; and transmitting, transferring, reproducing, downgrading, and destroying information.
    • Implements new program security policies as required. Coordinates and reviews Program Security Classification Guides (SCGs) to insure specific and correct guidance is available.
    • Coordinates and reviews on DD-254 contracts to ensure security requirements are accurate.
    • Implements and administers the Physical Security Program and administers the Personnel Security Program for the organization.
    • Plans, manages, and administers the Security Education Program and performs duties as the Top Secret Control Officer.
