Job Title: Millwright Apprentice Job Location: Darrington Job Description: A willingness to learn new maintenance tasks and help out as needed. Cleaning work area of debris during cutting and welding to reduce fire hazards. Focus on learning and assisting maintenance personnel with mechanical tasks. This position will include but not limited to PMs, machine center ownership, and machinery repair. This position will be considered for the next millwright apprentice and for that purpose will adhere to the apprenticeship guidelines and practices. Experience/Skills Required: EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED: Mechanical Knowledge and/or applicable experience is desired Practice safe work habits and comply with all company work and safety standards Certified in fall protection, PIT, chainsaw, or acquire certification Job Preferred Skills: JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Learn to perform preventative maintenance and maintain appropriate checklist on your assigned machine center 2. Cleaning up areas as needed to reduce fire hazards 3. Good manual dexterity 4. Good hand/eye coordination 5. Good communication skills through writing, speech and hearing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Attain a thorough working knowledge of the mechanical operations of the sawmill/ planer with focus on mechanical processes. 2. Assist maintenance personnel with mechanical breakdowns when needed 3. Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards. 4. Attend any training necessary to enhance performance. 5. Operate machinery in a safe manner so injuries do not occur to operator or any employee in the area. 6. Notify supervisor of any problem that arise during the shift 7. Train any employees as assigned by supervisor. 8. Work overtime as necessary. 9. Able to assist on other jobs during break rotation. 10. Will complete all applicable schoolwork as it pertains to the apprenticeship program. 11.
