    Join our team leading the transformation of our Digital Capabilities Directorate. We are looking for a Resource Management Subject Matter Expert in the IZH High Performance Computing Shared Resource Center.

    Position Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Serves as subject-matter expert providing technical leadership and expert analysis on a wide range of projects supporting the delivery of high performance computing (HPC) resources and software.
    • Leverages expert level knowledge of the design characteristics, limitations, and potential applications of HPC systems to recommend architectures for new and existing HPCMP users.
    • Analyzes and studies HPC performance data, utilization statistics, and user requirements to identify trends and inform and determine the impact of decisions.
    • Leads, organizes, and manages ad-hoc teams of technical and operational experts from the DoD HPCMP user community to evaluate the current infrastructure, operating processes, and policies within the HPC to implement improvements and modernization.
    • Possess sufficient DoD technical knowledge of USD(R&E) critical technology areas to support the analysis of technical merit, mission impact, cost and schedule savings of the High Priority Projects that will be ramping up over the next 2-3 years and supporting the HPCMP by understanding and documenting user requirements and user experiences on DSRC systems.
    • Support annual review of High Priority projects, and Frontier Projects as they ramp down at the end of FY27
    • Maintain and ensure all Resource Management Policy Documents and schedules are up-to-date; all HPC website information is current on a monthly basis.
    • Help users and HPCMP to develop and provide technical input and feedback on HPCMP mission success stories for formal reports; maintain and elicit success stories from High Priority users.
    • Possess knowledge of Critical Technology Areas, modern computational techniques especially in AI/ML and how to best use and allocate existing systems and nodes, facilitating usage of PET services for users, and communicate with DSRC technical staff as a High Priority user advocate.
    • Provide expert advice on the development and analysis of system metrics, including but not limited to workflow analysis and user metrics.
    • Provide all relevant information and allocation plans for High Priority projects on a yearly basis for the Allocation Planning briefing.

    • Computer Scientist (1550): To meet eligibility of a Computer Scientist, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.     • Statistics (1530) - To meet eligibility of a Statician, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Degree: that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that include studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing.     • Data Science (1560) - To meet the eligibility of the Data Science series, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
