Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist will assist line management in implementing HR practices; facilitate various efforts in the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and procedures, provide guidance, advice, and assistance to management and employees on issues or problems relating to human resources. Also collaborates with the HR Team to ensure efficiency and consistency of provided services and manages the recruiting function.
This is an exempt position. The primary duty of this role is office/non-manual work directly related to management or general business operations of the employer or the employer’s customers. This role includes discretion and independent judgement in matters of significance.
Job Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Generalist will be involved in the following areas of human resources:
Recruitment and Selection: Provide support in the recruitment function, this includes retaining the services of staffing agencies, submitting postings, assisting with job documentation/compliance requirements, conducting interviews, providing input to hiring managers, performing reference checks, and recommending compensation levels. The incumbent will closely manage the open positions and provide monthly reports to the HR leadership on open requisitions and recruitment progress.
On-boarding:Provide support to the HR team & hiring managers by ensuring all new-hires profiles are created in the HRIS system, and that paperwork/ background checks/ drug screens, I-9’s, and E-verify are completed timely and per company policy. Be the primary HR contact for all new hires; conduct new hire orientations and facilitate transition into business/organizational unit. Partner with 1st level supervisor to ensure goal setting and 90-days probation reviews are executed in a timely manner.
Compliance & Record- Keeping: Consistently manage employees files to ensure they’re standardized, up to date and compliant with document retention policies. Manage truck drivers’ medical cards, random tests, updated driver licenses, D.O.T physicals, and annual MVR’s for employees operating company vehicles. Partner with stakeholders and leadership to execute core HR processes, including performance management, employee relations, and federal and state labor law compliance including FLSA, EEOC, OSHA, confidentiality, sensitive information, etc.
HR Policy Administration: Support the HR manager in the documentation and implementation of HR and corporate policy and procedures and interpret as appropriate for the operational units.
Employee Relations: Conduct investigations, addressing workplace concerns and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.
Provides support on HR projects and programs as and when required.
Job qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or another related field required.
MS/MBA and PHR/SPHR certification desirable.
1-3 years of HR generalist experience.
1-3 years of Recruitment experience and working with an ATS system.
Experience working with an ERP or HCM system. Experience with Workday is highly preferred.
Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws including FLSA, DOT, FMLA, ADA, DOL.
Proficiency with MS Office and information systems is required.
Basic knowledge of Compensation, Safety, Training and Benefit Programs preferred.

Excellent organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Job Environment:
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
This position requires satisfactory passing of a drug test in accordance with Florida Statute § 440.102.
