    Job Overview

    This announcement will be accepting candidate submissions from December 2, 2024, to December 9, 2024.

    The Space Vehicles Directorate/Corporate Requirements branch, seeks to hire an entry level, DO-01, Information Technology Specialist in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incumbent will serve as a Video Teleconference (VTC) Information Technology (IT) specialist responsible for Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) level administration, operation, installation, and cybersecurity configuration of the Phillips Research Site (PRS) video equipment, teleconferencing and telepresence network equipment and for providing technical assistance, scheduling, training and customer operation support.

    Position duties include but are not limited to:

    • Designs, administers, operates, and schedules use of the AFRL Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Defense Research and Engineering (DREN), and other Special Teleconferencing/Telepresence equipment and projects.
    • Determines customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction, orientation and scheduling services.
    • Provides customer technical assistance and support to our customers for VTC and Telepresence systems, ensuring the proper functional use of the equipment.
    • Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze network failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of network teleconference / telepresence hardware, firmware and software.
    • Using knowledge of a full range of network teleconference/telepresence systems (LAN/WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network video CODEC's services that support functional requirements.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
    • The ability to obtain IAT level II certification within 6 months of start
    • The ability to use Microsoft Outlook calendar for scheduling conferences

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience working within a team
    • Experience with installation and configuration of audio / video equipment from various manufactures.
    • Experience with NIPRNET and SIPRNET systems.
    • The ability to work independently and with attention to detail under difficult situation
    • Good communication skills
    • Experience working in a customer service environment
    • The ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and make recommended solution
    • Experience with Crestron SMPL programmin
    • Experience using Microsoft TEAMS and Zoom
    • The ability to learn new concepts quickly
    • Current COMPTIA Security+ Certification
    • The ability to flex hours as required
