The primary commitment of the Housing and Homelessness Outreach Coordinator is to plan and implement effective and compassionate ministry to those struggling with homelessness and other related issues, within our local community, in a manner consistent with the Lake Avenue Church Ministry Plan. Individuals best suited for this position will possess: * Exemplary life of wholehearted devotion to Jesus Christ. * The spiritual gift-mix of discernment, mercy, and leadership. * Exceptional interpersonal, administrative, organizational, communication, and time management skills necessary to lead this ministry. * Capacity to develop and implement effective, innovative, and relevant strategy and ministry. * A demonstrated ability to recruit and manage volunteers to join in the ministry. * Exceptional team player with skills and capacity to work with and lead people with a wide range of gifts, strengths, personalities, and passions, including having a good multi-cultural understanding. * High level of personal integrity, self-motivation and evidence of desire for excellence. * Solid understating of computer software applications, especially Word and Excel. * Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Education and experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical example of this would be: Bachelor''s degree in psychology, sociology, political science, theology, Christian ministries or a related field and 2+ years recent experience working with those struggling with homelessness and other related issues. This part-time position is located within Outreach Ministries Division of Lake Avenue Church and reports to the Director of Community Outreach Ministries. This position is classified as non-exempt and includes evening and weekend hours. This part-time position does not include benefits.
