AFRL/RDSM seeks to hire a mid-level DO-02 Logistics Manager.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reports to the Installations & Facilities Chief and provides subject matter expertise for all facets of logistics programs supporting Maui's remote location
- Acts as the Accountable Property Officer (APO) overseeing the property management of laboratory equipment and Information Technology hardware
- As APO, establishes and enforces site policy to effect good stewardship of government property and the mandatory recording of property in the Accountable Property System of Record
- Liaises with a multitude of key external agencies providing vital logistics support and develops and maintains inter/intra-service support agreements for property life cycle dispositioning requiring inter-island transport
- Serves on the operations team supporting the coordination, review, and approval of periodic maintenance, calibration and documentation on support equipment
- Plans non-Military Standard Requisition and Issue Procedures shipments consistent with cargo classification and level of protection using both commercial and military modes of transportation for inbound and outbound cargo to and from the remote, geographically separated Maui site
- Develops performance work statements identifying logistics requirements, performance thresholds and evaluation criteria of the Base Operations Support (BOS) service provider
- Provides analysis logistics programs and plans, providing technical advice and assistance to the Branch Chief and performing long-term logistics planning for supporting research and development activities
- Directs the site's vehicle fleet program requirements

Required Qualifications
- Extensive logistics experience across all traditional logistics shops.
- Operations Compliance: provides oversight to leadership of various squadron compliance, training, resources, accountability, analysis
- Material Management: management, inventory, and inspecting DoD supplies & equipment such as TMDE
- Deployment & Distribution: cargo movement; receipt & shipment of supplies & equipment; execution of vehicle ops; oversight on some support agreements
- Fuels Management: Ensuring quality petroleum & fluids are acquired/issued safely; works with CE environmental team to supervise fuel storage
- Vehicle Management: overall management and maintenance of the squadron's vehicle fleet to include assignment, accountability, and maintenance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Day-to-day work will include task distribution, QA, and surveillance of on-site BOS contractor.
- Experience in top-down supply chain cargo movement of traditional Air Force and Navy logistics operations to remedy frustrated cargo
- Operations planning. The squadron is a small GSU and is very fluid in mission prioritization. Short and long term suspenses of ops deliverables will need adaptable supporting logistics.
- Quality assurance and exercise planning experience. Will be asked to partake/manage various inspection management program functions part of traditional LRS LGLO and LGRD orgs.
Additional Information
- External agency coordination. The squadron is a small GSU that organically lacks most cargo movement capabilities. Must be able to engage with "loggy lingo" to receive support in various logistical functions off-island.
- This position is the LRS for the organization.
