    Job Description

    The Full Stack Software Engineer II is a member of the Nihon Kohden engineering team that is building a Data Platform which supports data analytics algorithms and data-driven user applications.  Nihon Kohden utilizes a DevOps practice and this position entails both software development and operational IT support of the NK Data Platform.

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Design and implement software and data applications based on use case, workflow, and design specifications.
    • Support and deploy software and data applications following DevOps processes.
    • Support clinical applications implementation.
    • Liaise with collaborators on technical requirements.
    • Work in both office and hospital patient care environments including clinical trials.
    • Ability to learn new technologies, software, and methodologies.
    • Ability to work well within a team environment.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) preferred
      • Cloud Certifications a plus

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 1-3 years of software engineering experience
    • Experience in databases and data engineering system modules with ability to work in one or more of the following: SQL, Python, and/or MatLab.
      • Knowledge of stream data processing/messaging systems a plus (e.g. Kafka, Faust, Spark).
      • Basic understanding of machine learning principles a plus (e.g. Python Scikit-learn)
    • Experience in web frontend programming skills in JavaScript (Node.js), HTML/CSS and web application frameworks such as Angular.js, or React.js.
      • Knowledge of data visualization web packages a plus. (i.e. D3.js)
    • Experience with public Cloud services/IaaS (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google).
      • Experience in software containers a plus (e.g. Docker).
    • Some exposure to physiological data (ECG, PPG and/or vital signs) a plus.
    • Some exposure of medical image and health records standards such as HL7, DICOM, FHIR a plus.
    • Deeply cares about best software engineering practices and code quality, including adhering to sprint plans, good coding conventions and tooling, clean interfaces, test coverage, performance benchmarking, and performance optimizations and software security.
    • Ability to quickly prototype components to confirm design trade-offs and subsequently translate to robust specifications and product quality components.

    LOCATION: Boston, MA (first 6 mos), Irvine, CA.
