    The AFRL Headquarters Information Protection Office (AFRL/IP) seeks to fill a mid-level, DO-03 position of Program Analyst supporting the IP Center Senior Functional, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This position will serve as a Risk Identification and Security Countermeasure (RISC) Analyst responsible for identifying & analyzing potential security risks in direct support of national security; utilizing sensitive security, counterintelligence, & intelligence information enabling AFRL’s ability to protect sensitive technology from compromise. Additional position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Advising organizational leadership & subject matter experts, influencing risk-informed decision making.
    • Liaises with security, counterintelligence, & intelligence to enable development & implementation of countermeasures for protection of sensitive & classified AFRL programs & portfolios.
    • Ensures critical technologies are protected from espionage, terrorism, intellectual property theft, & other identified threats to National Security.
    • Reviews data to identify potential conflicts of interest & makes decisions on the level & depth of research required.
    • Conducts risk-based security reviews through the performance of in-depth research using both publicly available information & classified systems to aggregate known & unknown risks to key AFRL technology development efforts.
    • Develops authoritative documents that directly enable senior leaders to make risk-informed decisions prior to committing AFRL funds.
    • Increases all-source research/analytics skills thru formalized trainings & engages with AFRL Enterprise Program Risk Analysts to ensure consistent & holistic risk review capabilities.
    • Develops metrics based on aggregated data to advise leadership based on security risk identification across the portfolios.
    • Provides & develops security risk awareness training & education to the Mission Organization(s) & the AFRL enterprise.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DO-02/GS-12/13 or equivalent grade level.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS-SCI security clearance.
    • Drug testing designated position. Incumbent must adhere to the Department of the Air Force's drug testing policy.
    • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
    • Must be able to meet the OPM occupational series requirements for the 0343 Series.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Previous/current 0343/0080 background experience.
    • Proficient with databases and intel systems.
    • Experience assembling reports and briefing senior leadership.
    • Awareness and knowledge of DODI 5000.83 (Technology & Program Protection to Maintain Technological Advantage) & National Security Presidential Memorandum 33.
