POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for managing and troubleshooting product rejections across Chiquita Fresh North America’s distribution centers and ports. This role ensures efficient communication and resolution of claims related to fruit quality issues by collaborating with various departments, including Sales, Distribution Centers, Logistics, and Treasury. The coordinator plays a key role in minimizing financial losses and maintaining strong customer relationships by ensuring timely and accurate claim processing.
This is an on-site, exempt position located in the Dania Beach/Fort Lauderdale area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investigate and resolve claims related to fruit quality, working closely with Distribution Centers, Ports, Sales, and Logistics teams.
Document and analyze product rejections, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Communicate claim resolutions with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient processing.
Collaborate with Treasury to ensure proper financial documentation and resolution of claims.
Maintain accurate records of claims, inspections, and corrective actions.
Provide real-time updates and reports on claim trends, rejection rates, and resolution effectiveness.
Assist in educating internal teams on quality standards and proper handling procedures to reduce claim occurrences.
Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance overall claim management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
3 years of experience in quality control, claims management, or logistics within the fresh fruit or produce industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to document all claims and maintain organized records.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desirable but not required.
JOB ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional visits to distribution centers and ports.
May require occasional travel to inspect product rejections and collaborate with field teams.
Frequent interaction with cross-functional teams to ensure timely claim resolutions.
This position requires satisfactory passing of a drug test in accordance with Florida Statute § 440.102.
