    The Spectrum Warfare Systems Engineering Branch (AFRL/RYWD), Sensors Directorate seeks to hire an Entry-level RF Electronic Warfare Engineer, DR-01 (GS-07-GS-11 equiv) in Dayton, OH. For current government applicants, this position is open to candidates currently at the GS-05 (or equivalent grade) level eligible for promotion and/or current DR-01 (or equivalent grade) level candidates for reassignment.

    Duties will include but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for the development, modeling, simulation, and evaluation of Radio Frequency Electronic Warfare sensors, countermeasure technologies, and systems to enhance the performance and survivability of aircraft.
    • Supports laboratory, field/flight testing, and demonstration of advanced Electronic Warfare technologies and concepts.
    • Collaborates with research groups across academia, industry, and the DoD for development of new and unique technology and assessment capabilities.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Applicants must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled: 1 year of graduate-level education OR superior academic achievement (S.A.A.), which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership), OR 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5 (or equivalent) grade.     • Position will be filled using occupational series within the SCIENTIST AND ENGINEERING career field.

    • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret with access to SCI and SAP security clearance, as condition of employment.
    • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
    • This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 1 (Foundational) Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (N); the selectee will have 36 months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.

    Desired Qualifications

    Desired experiences or background include:

    • Radio-frequency systems, signals, components, and/or test equipment
    • Radar and Electronic Warfare systems application and/or design
    • Antenna design, characterization, and/or pattern measurement
