    Are you interested and experienced in protecting critical Science and Technology (S&T) elements? The Air Force Research Lab is looking to hire a full-time S&T Protection Functional to ensure those critical technology elements are protected. The incumbent will serve as the AFRL and Department of the Air Force (DAF) subject matter expert (SME) for S&T protection, leading and collaborating with directorates and geographically-separated units in planning and organizing the activities of the AFRL enterprise S&T Protection and Risk Identification and Security Countermeasures (RISC) programs.

    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Planning & integrating multiple security disciplines (information, industrial, personnel, OPSEC, CUI, STINFO & physical security) in support of AF S&T mission.
    • Applying risk management principles & methods to ensure critical technology elements (CTE) are protected.
    • Assisting directorates with up front risk assessments, identifying CTE, executing RISC, documenting decisions, selecting countermeasures, & establishing S&T protection plans.
    • Developing innovative options for designing & adapting customer focused information protection responsibilities/requirements while offering flexibility in responding to continuously changing requirements.
    • Interpreting HHQ policy and providing oversight for the S&T Protection workforce within AFRL.
    • Regularly meeting with team members in AFRL, within DAF, and across the DoD to drive the future of S&T Protection across the Department.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
    • Drug testing is required
    • The incumbent will be required to file annual financial disclosures (OGE 450) to ensure there are no conflicts of interest in the performance of these duties
    • One (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (DO-02/GS-13 or equivalent)
