Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Leads a team dedicated to nuclear deterrence, missile defense, NASA’s lunar mission, and assured access to space.
- Oversees the nation's only high-altitude test facility that enables simulation of Mar's surface atmospheric conditions and the large component engine test area that fielded the original F1 engines for NSSL.
- Fields production technology for warfighter insertion.
- Manages cost, schedule, and performance of AFRL’s rocket test and evaluation portfolio.
- Oversees a large government and contractor team supporting the $10.2B test areas across 65-sq miles.
- Leads a cross-organization team, including test personnel and coordinates across the Site for security, safety, quality assurance, and munitions to plan and develop test processes and conduct operations.
- Works with industry and DoD partners as part of Public-Private Partnerships to advance the US rocket technology base.
- Utilizes work experience to convey technical test execution needs, assess readiness, communicate risks to peers and senior leadership.
- Guides the technical baseline driving decisions for facility capability upgrades, digital footprint needs, and prioritizes mission needs.
- Represents AFRL for local and National customer engagements.
- Grows the workforce, mentoring junior military and civilian members on their career paths.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain required Secret security clearance
- Must have five years of experience at the DR-II (GS-12/13 or equivalent) grade level or one year of experience at the DR-III (GS-14 or equivalent) grade level
- BS Engineering degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
- Must have two years test experience in either rocket or flight test
- Experience with programming and budgeting in regard to research and development programs
- Demonstrated ability to work with industry partners to meet mission requirements
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level II non-critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (N) . The selectee will have 24 months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.
