Who is AFRL?
The Scientific, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Student Employment Program (SSEP) is an Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) program to recruit, train and develop current college students in undergraduate through post-graduate STEM programs. This is a developmental opportunity to gain valuable real world work experience with AFRL. We are looking for the below courses of study from undergraduate through post-graduate school. This job posting may be used to hire students directly into Lab Demo STEM positions using a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Department of Defense’s Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratories (STRLs). This student authority allows for the noncompetitive conversion to competitive service.

Students may be appointed to a temporary or a flexible length student term appointment. A travel allowance may be offered. Applications will be kept on file until 31 December 2024. All applications and supporting documentation become the property of the Department of the Air Force and will not be returned once submitted.
Pay setting rules and regulations will be applied based upon levels of experience and/or education. Locality pay will be determined by location. Under the DX-1 grade level, salary could range from $45K to $76K.
