    The Air Force Office of Scientific Research Strategic Planning Branch, AFOSR/RP, seeks to hire a senior-level, DR-0801-III Senior General Engineer in Arlington, VA. The incumbent will serve as a Senior Plans and Programs Engineer responsible for organizational strategic planning, programming, and budgeting activities supporting the AFOSR's mission.

    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Provides corporate interface and reviews Higher Headquarters strategic documents, organization policies, directives, and procedures to assess the impact on AFOSR investment priorities.
    • Develops AFOSR Strategic Plan and Annual Planning Guidance.
    • Advises leadership on investment strategy and resource allocation.
    • Assists the Director to ensure national and DOD space science and engineering priorities are integrated into the overall AFOSR investment plan.
    • Conducts strategic analysis and budgeting forecasting, evaluates major trends, and recommends plans and fiscal policy.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
    • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor’s degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
    • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DR-02/GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems.
