Reporting to the plant engineering team leader, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day engineering support to ensure safe operation and production specific to the mechanical discipline. Key Accountabilities Support the journey to zero safety culture of Suncor Lead, train, champion a positive reciprocal environment and set clear communication of engineering requirements to construction contractors and Suncor craft personnel Initiate and lead management of change (MOC) process and troubleshooting equipment problems Lead the maintenance repair scope development and associated engineering and design required while engaging applicable cross functional teams (CFT) members and other plant resources Manage maintenance and small capital projects done within the CFT as well as product hazard analysis (PHS) short term mitigation Provide engineering support for outages and turnarounds including scope development, design, quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) Challenge status quo within the context of continuous improvement, develop and encourage creative solutions and new ways of thinking that go beyond traditional approaches Maintain assets technical and engineering information through document control center (DCC) equipment files, INTools, and engineering drawings, and other Suncor database programs. Required Qualifications Experience and Education: Minimum of two years of experience in mechanical engineering plant experience Working experience with rotating or fixed equipment preferred Bachelor Degree in engineering, mechanical preferred P.Eng designation preferred Skills and Knowledge: Ability to read, understand, and interpret design drawings You have strong communication skills to build positive relationships with a diverse group of people competing for resources You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value Strong technical, decision-making, analytical skills and the ability to think strategically and identify root-causes and critical elements Working Conditions You thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities, challenging demands, and strict deadlines Why Suncor Go ahead.
