    The 711th Human Performance Wing, (711 HPW), School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), Office of the Dean (ED), Student Services (EDM), Franzello Aeromedical Library (EDMS) seeks to hire a mid-level DO-02 Supervisor, Medical Library operations in Dayton, Ohio. The selectee will serve as the first level supervisor directing the full scope of medical library operations to all 711th Human Performance Wing customers.

    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Directs the full scope of the medical library operations including research, education, design and support, administration, management, coordination, planning, marketing, and promotion of all medical library operations to provide superior service to the 711th Human Performance Wing and all its customers.
    • Directly supervises, trains, coaches, equips, and supports all library staff.
    • Sets library goals and develops both short and long-range plans for library services to best posture for the future environment.
    • Collaborates with the respective Division Chief, Sr. Associate Dean and Dean to develop and justify the library/research budget and to prioritize education supportive services.
    • Provides supervisory oversight of material acquisition for the library collection.
    • Ensures availability of current student resource materials and oversees reproduction activities.
    • Analyzes data, produces required reports, and makes data-driven decisions.
    • Manages space, and coordinates with facility management regarding environmental controls, maintenance and modernizations.
    • Identifies, creates, and executes marketing programs, including outreach and publicity programs and special events.
    • Assists researchers with developing and coordinating studies with local, state, and federal agencies, developing grant and project proposals, presenting seminars and lectures, and preparing reports and manuscripts for publication.
    • Establishes and maintains consultative relationships with professional peers and other libraries.
    • Uses continuous process improvement concepts to develop and maintain a strategic plan.
    • Remains current on the latest concepts, medical terminology and policies regarding medical library operations and online systems.
    • Responsible for preparing performance plans, performance work statements and independent government estimates to successfully execute the comprehensive USAFSAM mission.

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

    • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours. It includes evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
