    The Munitions Contracting Division has a job opportunity for a DO-1102-03 (GS-14 equivalent) Supervisory Contract Specialist at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB). Eglin AFB is a United States Air Force base in western Florida, located about three miles (5 km) southwest of Valparaiso in Okaloosa County. The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is the primary scientific research and development center for the Department of the Air Force.

    Position duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Planning and organizing activities of the Branch
    • Ensuring contracting actions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs
    • Directing, coordinating, and controlling office resources
    • Developing goals and objectives for the Branch
    • Establishing policies and procedures for successful accomplishment of acquisitions includes planning solicitations, negotiations, source selections, awards, administration, and termination of contracts and ensuring the efficient use of resources to achieve "best value" outcomes.
    • Planning and scheduling work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution
    • Coordinating plans and schedules with other Branch Chiefs and customers
    • Identifying needs for change in priorities and taking actions to implement such changes in a timely manner
    • Providing supervisory personnel management responsibilities
    • Assigning work to subordinate supervisors and employees such that the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the staff are effectively utilized to meet customer needs
    • Advising employees of policies, procedures, and directives of management
    • Representing the Contracting Division with a variety of installation and business organizations
    • Establishing, developing, and maintaining effective working relationships with contractors, business and industry representatives, customer organizations, federal, state, and local government officials, and allied organizations
    • Participating in special projects, initiatives, and other special assignments

    Required Qualifications

    • United States Citizenship
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school
    • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
    • Drug testing may be required
    • File annual financial disclosures (OGE 450) to ensure no conflict of interest in the performance of these duties
    • One (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (i.e. DO-02 / GS-13 or equivalent)

    • Unlimited Contracting Warrant
    • Master’s degree from an accredited school
    • Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) or Senior Developmental Education (SDE)
